Regardless, what you want to do (which you perhaps already know, in
which case this response will be pretty useless to you) is to start an
X server on :1, somehow configuring it so that it uses the 2nd
display, keyboard, and mouse.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to do that.  (I warned you this email
would be pretty useless).  I'm also wondering if/how well it will work
if you have a single video card (as opposed to 2 separate video
cards).

Hmmm... I'm thinking this response is even less helpful than I thought
it would be.  And I have very low standards!
