I think that is a hibernate video issue. It's a bug I'm trying to sort
out w/my old nVidia card; I hibernate, powers off, restart, black
screen. I can ssh in the machine & see from the xorg log file that the
nvidia driver status info isn't being saved. The result is that the
driver supplies the wrong freq to the monitor upon resume.

Maybe related?

[gnome-power-manager crashes all 5-10 minutes again]

While most of that goes on about the indicator applet, notice the first
few lines.

Might be worth having a look through:
