CLI resolution

Are you talking about the resolution in the VT (CTRL-ALT-3 , 4, 5
etc?), or in the Terminal Emulators on the desktop?

If it is the first perhaps look into http://code.google.com/p/fbterm/,
though I am unsure of exactly how to use it.

If it is the second, the resolution should be identical to that of the
desktop, and should be set in the same way.
