Ah, the Notification Area!  I hadn't thought of that.  Add it by right
clicking on your panel, choosing to add to panel and adding,
"Notification Area."  You /should/ already have it, though, on a
normal installation.

To the OP: (Basil?)  What with all the snipping I've forgotten the
original app of which you speak.  Maybe a more pertinent subject line
in the future...
