Well, I shouldn't have said "front end".  But it _uses_ rsync:  "Transfers 
are optimised using a version of the rsync protocol".  It's true that it 
does not explicitly use the "rsync" command or package.

Sure, but that certainly looks like what you get from a front end - some 
kind of extra logic to simplify and improve the underlying technology.
