:-) This is back on topic. I don’t care whether it’s a good idea to use
assembly or not. The great thing about Ubuntu is that you have the right
to use it if that’s what you want.
I prefer Richard Blum’s Professional Assembly Language, Wrox, which
covers more and covers embedding assembly in gcc.
I have a copy of Neveln I don’t need. If you want something just to get
started, send me a postal address and if I can post it at reasonable
cost I’ll send it free.
Both books cover intel/amd chips. Blum’s covers some of the SIMD
features.
