No, thanks for asking, I took it off using synaptic (also took over10 hours to 
do that),tried reinstalling, same deal.  However, after the install process 
and the initial setup which each step took over an hour to do, the laptop 
heated up to like 84 C where normally it runs at  about 50 C.  Checking with 
top showed python taking 100 percent of CPU time.  So does Turboprint use 
python somewhere?  And why doesn't the bad script get deleted when Turbopint 
is removed?  Or is it CUPS messing up somewhere?
