The clogged upload puzzle

Hello all =)

I have quite a puzzle. After I login into Ubuntu desktop shortly after
everything is loaded system monitor shows constant ~180KiB upload
activity.

I have no clue what is being uploaded and where. I've tried removing
and killing all apps that might have some network activity with no
luck.

netstat with various options is not showing anything useful (as
discussed on #ubuntu)

So any tips and suggestions are welcome, and I'll do anything to find
what the problem is.

I'm running karmic but I have suspicion it is something very basic.
