Evolution vs. Thunderbird

Hi again.

It looks like a lot of people are saying to go with Thunderbird. I might try
using Evolution so that I always have something working, if I have some free
time and some patience. It looks like Thunderbird is more aptly suited for
Gmail compatibility, which is something I really need.

One more thing: I've read a lot of stuff about Apache SpamAssassin. Is it
easy to get that to work in Thunderbird or Evolution (or not even
necessary)?
