I have a Canon PowerShot A80 that was automatically detected and works 
with every Linux distro I've used with it, which included various 
versions of Mandriva, OpenSuse, Kubuntu Hardy, and now, Fedora 11. I use 
KDE so in all cases, it was the brilliant digiKam that I was using. It 
"Just Works" for me.

By the way, "Cannon camera"... sounds explosive. :)
