touchpad tapping not working

I found few links, but none of them helped me get the touchpad tapping with
two fingers worked.
I am running ubuntu 9.04 on my new laptop hp 6730b.
Any help would be appreciated.

I tried to follow the link below but I cannot manage to run start synclient
or gsynaptics.
none of them see the SHMConfig set to true even though I added that just
like the page suggested
