external display not working well

Hi
I have a hp 6730b laptop running ubuntu 9.04 and have an external monitor
hp LE2201w 22"
I am suppose to get a max of 2560 x 1600 resolution according to the spec.
I am getting only 1280 x 1024
# sudo lspci -v for the display and vga shows this
