Empathy and VOIP on Karmic

I'm running Karmin beta with a fresh install. Ekiga is not installed by
default but from what I read, Empathy is meant to provide VOIP and
should replace Ekiga (and Pidgin).
But I cannot find anyway to get Empathy to make a VOIP call or configure
a VOIP account. Does anyone know how this can be done? Do I need another
package?
