One never knows. Keeping abreast of the changes via karmic-changes
mailing list would be definitive.

I haven't elected to do the upgrade grub thing  yet. So far it is not
an issue on my laptop, which I've updated (twice now) with
update-manager -d. Grub 2 is interesting in  one respect, especially
on USB stick boots, if it will let me arbitrarily boot an iso image
that just happens   to be available - that's my primary interest in it
just now.
