a) Its not insecure. There are any number of Unix like systems
(all the *BSD's I believe?) that have root accounts with passwords. 

And b) I don't object to people disagreeing or pointing out whatever they
think is better or wrong. I do object to being patronized and being told what
I can or cannot say. Its more how it was said. I can say what I want within
the guidelines of this list. Period. And anyone is free to disagree. That's
why its a discussion.
