If you want to _disable_ wireless you could use the command

sudo iwconfig wlan0 txpower off

in a terminal and replace wlan0 with the interface name of your wireless 
card. If you don`t know the interface name you can find it with the 
command "iwconfig" in a terminal.

But if you want to _enable_ the wireless interface I can't help you. I 
only know machines which have a hardware switch or a designated key 
combination to enable the wireless.
