Installation over pppoe stopped working in 9.04-final

Without the "install", d-i would not even start running, would it?

Yeah, seems like this might be related.  I use a customized image, too.  
But sorting the Packages did not help.  Then I've noticed the ppp-udeb
package is no longer contained in the image (it was contained in the
beta image)

means exactly that: they have removed ppp-udeb from the image.  So now,
how do I get it back into the image?  Are there plans to put it back in
9.10?
