To a degree you are right. But there is so much traffic on this list
that for derivative specific stuff (here, the KDE implementation of
KUbuntu, and its apps), going to the dedicated mailing list off-loads
the main one, and is bound to give the user better answer, as they come
from people who are specialized in KUbuntu and know it like the back of
their palm. Also, KUbuntu devs are more likely to hang around on
"their" mailing list, than on the Gnome one in which, in all logic,
they have zero interest. Just like I prefer Gnome and have zero
interest in reading the KUbuntu list if just because I have never
used KUbuntu so would be wasting my time and be unable to help anyone
anyhow...
Now that's just my understanding, but it seems to hold
water reasonalby well to me ?! ;-)
