sshfs just allows one to mount a dir from one machine on another.
I mount my /home from my main office box to my laptop to grab files, 
when working outside of my home/office, and put the files back after 
working on them.
It really wouldn't do for collaboration, since I'm not letting anyone 
else mount my /home dir.
I have used google docs to collaborate on documents.
