Leave it to the subscribers to hit 'ignore thread', or whatever their
chosen reader provides.

It doesn't happen now, as there's no need, but change will invoke this
type of behaviour.
You have to consider the behaviours that will be invoked by change,
usually more so than immediate effect of the change itself.
You'll never be able to control all the people all the time, and I
certainly think that trying to encourage this approach on the ubuntu
lists is, well, distasteful.
