How to get a KDE to run

    As I said I did exactly:

$ sudo aptitude install kde

and it took about 30 minutes to download about half a gigabyte of files. 
There were lib and all types starting with a k. It said at the end that 
I had to do something with the init files. I didn't have a clue how to 
do whatever it was.

    So this is what needs to be done. I know of no way to find out how 
to do it but I will Google starting kde and see if someone actually got 
it running.
