You can try epiphany or opera.
For ephiphany:
$ sudo apt-get install epiphany
but I think it may already be installed by default.
For opera:
http://www.opera.com/download/
What was the status of the Firefox 'toolkit.networkmanager.disable'
preference was it set to 'True' or 'False' and what is it set at now?
