Inappropriate tone on this mailing list and requirement for governance

I do have one additional wish list for moderation.  If a moderator steps
into an OT thread and asks it be moved, (private or sounder, as the case
may be), the discussion ends *there.* and people brazenly defying the
rule should be treated to the harshest measure of moderation.

Of course, it would be no joy for moderators to involved themselves in
every little OT discussion that pop up from minute to minute, but I
think we can agree that such measures would be appropriate from some
recent threads seen on this list.  Even community members I normally
respect have not had the good grace to let it die and continue posting.
