Ubuntu 8.10 works quite well on my brand new HP laptop. However, I
had to spend the time in research and figuring out why it didn't work
in the beginning. You have to be willing to do that too, but that
doesn't seem to be the case.
In all affairs it's a healthy thing now and then to hang a question
mark on the things you have long taken for granted.
