wifi and cdwriter problems

The laptop has one year and half, and it is used always in office, so in a 
enough clean environment. Please note that this is a dual boot pc, and with 
windows I don't have the above problems, never. I've seen these problems 
appearing after upgrading to 8.04, while with 7.1 everything was working fine, 
so I guess it is a problem with the current OS....but where??
