If you are looking for an all in one I just set up a brother MFC-6480CW.
Not only does it work well, it also prints and scans 11 X 17. It also
was a whole lot easier to get up and working with ubuntu than it was
with the window Xp machine.

I currently am working on an issue with a HP laserjet 4250. It will not
affect most people but if you print from the command lines it ignores
CUPS -o options for postscript files things like turning duplex on and
off. As long as you want the default options or print from things like
Open Office it is fine. Of course this printer also loses options from
windows if you use the postscript driver instead of the pcl driver.

The Openprinting.org site well allow you to check everything out before
you buy. Also our local Office Max lets you return items for 15 days so
you can make sure you are happy with how it prints.
                        Linda
