Gnomesword just gives Arabic text

Of course it is.  If it's going to install a single version (as opposed
to a comprehensive set) by default, it should be either the books in
their original languages (mostly Hebrew and Koine Greek), or a
translation associated with the user's localization.  Installing an
arbitrary translation is asinine.
