I don't think you can do it and it is likely the reason the original poster
can't update his system. The repositories are no longer there! You might be
able to find the systems on a CD somewhere but you can't update the system to
allow the next step. I know Ubuntu is a fantastic system and some don't want
to upgrade their working system but it would be nice to sustain a working
upgrade path of some sort.
