upgrade 6.1 to 7.04

That is because 6.10 AND 7.04 are no longer supported. If you want to 
upgrade to a supported version it would be 6.10 -> 7.04 -> 7.10 and even 
7.10 itself will no longer be supported when 9.04 is available next 
month. If I were in your situation I would reinstall Ubuntu 8.04 LTS 
which will be supported until 2011. However if you really want to go 
the long upgrade way, follow these instructions:
