How do I install Ubuntu using a thumb drive?

The easiest way to do it for my HP mini was using unetbootin
http://lubi.sourceforge.net/unetbootin.html it can be done using windows or
linux(although there are certain packages that are needed) and there are
many distros which you can choose from, including Ubuntu.
