Yes, I know of what you speak.  However, he's not likely to change or even want to if he is constantly put down. I personally didn't think his post was all that bad, BTMO. And I have seen him criticized for something that actually worked and had tried myself.

That's one way to handle it and not insult him. I do feel it's better to just ignore his posts in that regard or at least not to follow up if advise is offered and he does not act upon it and doesn't report the results which I've seen happen but always when he was being flamed unmercifully. In those cases, I may forget to report too and would certainly be defensive.  Just another viewpoint on the matter from a person who was teased unmercifully from the time I was 5 yrs old because of an eye imbalance problem.  Maybe I'm just too sensitive but better that way than being too cold hearted.
