I got a reply from TomTom as well. Mine wasn't as "positive". It
basically said that it is unlikely that there will be a Linux port of
TomTom Home. It suggested that I would dual boot my system or buy a Mac.
Totally unacceptable as an answer of course.

I see mixed reports about the use of TomTom Home under WINE. I think the
later reports seem to indicate that it works. Perhaps this is something
to try.

I still need to provide feedback to TomTom about the quality of their
answer... ;-)
