I looked for Brasero and then tried it in a Terminal and got:

karl at Jaunty:~$ brasero
The program 'brasero' is currently not installed. You can install it by
typing:
sudo apt-get install brasero
bash: brasero: command not found
karl at Jaunty:~$

So for some reason it is not installed either...

It appears that Nautilus 2.26.2 is working not at all as well on this
computer too. I pulled up Help and I can't find the way to write to a cd
where Help says it is expected to be.
