how do I get the system to recognize bluetooth mouse?

Hi,

I got ubuntu loaded and it is working fine (to the extent
I know what to do :).  I bought a bluetooth mouse, which
I used bluethooth icon on upper right to set up.  But I can't
get the mouse to work.  It doesn't move the arrow on the
screen. It is blinking, however.  I have rebooted the
computer, but that didn't do it.

Can someone please tell me what more I have to do?
