Hi,

I feel very frustrated. I bought a laptop. Esprimo Mobile V6545. Made by Fujitsu Siemens. With an ATI Mobility radeon HD 3450 card.

I installed Ubuntu 9.04 (32 bit) with a Live CD. It worked only if I chose Safe Graphics Mode with F4 at the beginning of the installation. Otherwise not, the screen becomes dark and the laptop is frozen, no key works, except Alt+Prtscr+Fn+B.  Which reboots the machine.

Ok, I said. I installed Ubuntu as I could. After that it reboots from hard disk. But the resolution I could see was only 1024x768 and 800x600 with the only refresh rate of 61Hz.

In the specifications appears that my screen has a native resolution of 1280x800 and refresh rate is 60Hz. I can't set this native parameters because they don't appear in the option list.

I tried to install the ATI fglrx driver. First time, Ubuntu offered me to install it (proprietary driver). It didn't work. after rebooting, everything was dark and frozen. Second time I followed  the instruction from:
I used the instruction for installing the driver for that card from:

http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Jaunty_Installation_Guide#Installing_the_drivers_manually

Same darkness and frozeness.

What can I do?

Thanks
Emil
