Pulse Audio suspends

Dear all,
I am having an issue in that if I play multimedia in X, all is good, but
if I switch to console audio suspends, if I change audacious to use alsa
this works, but then I'm unable to have multiple concurrent streams.

So I am after a setting that will tell pulseaudio to not suspend, I often
stream radio as well,this is incredibly annoying practise, so how can I
get my old working ways again? This was never a problem when I tested
Fedora, or opensuse, I am using hardy for its LTS if this helps.
