What did I do wrong?

When on IRC, you should never paste like that, but use a pastebin
instead, as OttifantSir recommended. This is important, because IRC is
a limited medium and when there are more than a thousand users in the
channel, it can become completely impossible to follow conversations
if people send too many messages.
You should also try to collect your messages into a long one,
explaining the problem well, rather than splitting it up and "using
enter as punctuation".
It's quite normal to kick users when flooding the channel with
messages from a paste or similar, in order to "protect" the channel.
Since many users have clients that automatically rejoin when they're
kicked, it's also customary to set a ban. You would normally get a
warning and an explanation in a private message though.
Reading your attached piece of log, I wouldn't be too upset if I were
you. Next time, you'll use a pastebin instead of pasting into the
channel, and everyone will be happy.
Best regards,
