The folks on the IRC channel just wanted you to paste your output to the 
pastebin, and not enter it line by line, flooding the channel.
Our pastebins are here: http://paste.ubuntu.com/ or here: 
http://ubuntu.pastebin.com/  (I would recommend using the 2nd of the two).
You would paste the output, then give a link to your pasted information 
on the IRC channel, so that persons in the channel can have a look on 
the pastebin, if they so wish, without flooding the channel with large 
amounts of text that not everyone wishes to see.
You can see in the conversation that you posted that user "dug" pasted 
information to share with user "frostburn", just as was suggested to

I do not believe that the people on the channel were giving you 
attitude.  They were simply asking you to comply with standard procedure 
on the channel.
