Which CPU to use with UBUNTU

Hi Steven,
I hadn't thought of the 64 bit issue. I will have either 3GB or 4GB of RAM 
because I use REALBasic, which uses a lot.

Am I right that old programs will have no problems with a 64bit system? They 
will just run in 32bit mode or something like that?
