webcam not detected on kubuntu 9.04

Hi all,
I bought a gpt webcam of the version cp 308.
When plugging it in the usb, the camera is not detected.
In windows the camera is detected, and afterwards i install the windows
driver.
I have two problems:

   - The camera is not detected. I looked at the "/dev/video*" files as
   described at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Webcam and i did not see
   the device


   - There is no driver in the install cd for linux. maybe this problem is
   easier,as i can maybe use easycam

May you help me in this issue ?
