Yes, so it should be 9.10 then, not 9.11.

The only problem I had with 8.10 was that I can't get a login sound.
The logout sound never worked on any of the versions I tried (all the
versions 7.04 - 8.10) on any of the machines at home.

And the dirty crap ”Pulse Audio” sucks bad too. I always (almost) have
to kill the Pulse Audio process if I want sound from Audacity.

Other than that, I have had no sound problems…
