'Windows' in this case was a handy short form for 'another computer
with a different WebDAV implementation you may have handy'  e.g. prove
whether the problem is server or client.

I'm sure there are alternate WebDAV implementations I could have
suggested, but Windows obviously qualifies, is often readily
available, and familiar to the user.

If that tool wasn't available, then we'd have to find another.  I
didn't say Windows was required - I'd be the last to do that - but if
it's handy you might as well get some use out of it...
