I suppose,; I used pine for many years (years ago) and it always
respected msg headers & threading. If you look in your headers do you
see In-Reply-To: headers? as in your reply to this post?
In-Reply-To: <h2ud4a$o0t$1 at ger.gmane.org>
Please have a look a the original thread :No good CD-Rom copy software"
& your subsequent post "No good CD-Rom copy software (fwd)" see if there
are In-Reply-To: headers in your pine client.

I don't show a 'In-Reply-To:' header. Nor to I show one in this latest.
Could be because I use nntp to read the list and gmane.org is missing
those. If so, I'd like to figure it out so that I see all posts as
threaded if they are. Thanks.

Pretty simple to do then:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-users
if he's interested.

I reckon that my mozilla mail client (SeaMonkey) does just fine. If you
can show that your client is properly responding to 'In-Reply-To:'
headers and msgs, then I'll be happy to work to fix the problem on my
side. However, you might want to have a look at:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-users/2009-July/thread.html
and see where your posts turn up.

Your post(s) aren't threaded there either.
