Ubuntu 9.04 menu problem(ASUS U81)

Hello Folks
I observed the following problem on UBUNTU 9,04 (on ASSUS U81).

Configuration
Hardware laptop ASUS U81
UBUNTU 9.04
GNOME Desktop
All updates according 05/07/09 have been installed
I cannot change main menu(add new ones that not included in deafult mode)
using configuration. In case I try to setup new item in main after a few
second this mark is reseted to default state
Did anybody observe this wrong behavior?
