resume from hibernate slooow on jaunty

Hi,
I have a problem with hibernation on my vaio VGNFZ18m with 64bit jaunty. 
the video card is an Nvidia 8400MGT using the 180.44 driver.  the laptop 
goes in fine but, upon resume the framerate is something like 2 seconds 
per frame (not even frames per second!). I can see the screen sloooowly 
refreshing from top to bottom, literally! At that stage, CAB 'solves' 
the problem --- but sort of defeats the purpose of hibernation...
Could someone give me a pointer to how to deal with this problem?
