need help to learn installing

The easiest way to install things in Ubuntu (and Linux in general) is by 
using the Synaptic Package Manager.  You can find it on Ubuntu by going 
to System/Administration/Synaptic Package Manager.  I would suggest 
searching for Pocket PC there.

Personally, I use a Palm which I use an SD card mostly to exchange 
software.  When I need to do a sync I use jpilot, but that works with 
palms only.
