KVM resets mouse button order

I have mouse button order set to Left.  It works fine.  However, when I switch 
back to my other machine using KVM and them switch back, the mouse button 
order resets back to right.  In the prefs, it still says Left.
Any ideas how to resolve this?  or a temp. fix?
