Linking two packages

I am interesting in linking two packages. Every time I upgrade my
kernel I would like to also download the appropriate version of
linux-headers. I have virtual box installed and when I upgrade kernels
the kernel module stops working as it was compiled for an older kernel.
I have the dkms package installed which (I think) automatically rebuilds
the kernel module but I feel like it doesn't work unless I manually
install the new version of the kernel headers. So is there any way to
get the two packages linked? I use apt-get for upgrading. Or is there
a way to make dkms go out and get the kernel header version that it
needs? Or is this already taken care of somewhere else???

To be or not to be, that is the question
                2b || !2b
(0b10)*(0b1100010) || !(0b10)*(0b1100010)
        0b11000100 || !0b11000100
        0b11000100 || 0b00111011
               0b11111111
        255, that is the answer.
