Waking up the printer makers to the existence of ubuntu and other linux users

There doesn't seem to be many or any printer manufacturers who make a
printer, copier, and scanner that can be used in ubuntu so perhaps they
should be awakened to the fact that there are thousands of ubuntu and
other linux users all over the world who might be interested in having
such a machine. Not one manufacturer has advertised a liuux compatible
machine.

If they were swamped with email inquiring about a printer, copier,
scanner that can be used in ubuntu it should create some interest and
it shouldn't be long before they'd come out with such
a product. Addressing such email to all the manufacturers at the same
time should create some incentive to be the first to come out with such
a product.

I'm thinking that a short form letter that would be available on this
list and perhaps a web page to show how many linux users feel that they
could use such a machine.if every body who uses this list sends a copy
to all the manufacturers of such machines.

Imagine the effect if such an email letter were sent from hundreds, if
not thousands of
linux users all over the world arriving at the offices of the
manufacturers at the same time.

Anybody interested? Suggestions? Or is it too late?
