I think I have done that. I still don't know why it is wrong to tell
the reporter his report died!

I would think a few more complaining in the right place would help. As
for myself, I have complained in #ubuntu-bugsquad, the bugsquad mailing
list, the ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list, xubuntu-devel mailing
list, ubuntu-doc mailing list. Most express _AWE_ that this is
happening.
I used to have _great repect_ for you, trying to help others the way
you have. If my trying to help bothers you, you should just killfile me.
